Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

absence makes the heart grow fonder

So I’ve been a way for a while. About two months to be exact but as they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? I suppose I should be offering out some amazing news or big reveal… Oh no wait, I am! My silence isn’t 100% attributed to my laziness!

You may remember I started a new job in February. It took me a while to get into a routine with that. By the time I did, I found out some life changing news… I’m pregnant! Follow that with a mix of shock, excitement and nervousness then throw in nausea, exhaustion and migraines and you have yourself someone who could barely be bothered to eat dinner when arriving home from work, let alone write a blog post.

Don’t get me wrong, I have been keeping up with things through my love of magazines and fellow bloggers, and I have some exciting posts for you in the coming days and weeks. My aim is to dedicate some time each week to my blog and not to completely disappear from the land of the living again! I also should apologise to all the people I have had to rearrange plans with or cancel completely due to my days off work being filled with sleep, and the need to just lie on my couch!

In the last week, I have regained a bit of energy, tried to incorporate regular exercise and my eating has improved. Kiwi fruits are my absolute favourite. Coffee is a definite no no… That smell when it goes cold in the cup… Words cannot describe how repulsive I seem to find that now. I am amazed at how many changes I have seen. Not just in my eating habits or all of a sudden becoming the proud owner of a bloodhound’s sense of smell; but in my body. I couldn’t live without my H&M maternity jeans now,  and thank you to the kind lady in the lingerie department of House of Fraser who took away the agony of the bra that turned the twins into quadruplets! That was pain!

Last week I got to meet my little bump and finally got confirmation that it is really happening, and I’m not just blowing up like a balloon for no real reason! It left me on a high and with a big smile on my face. Roll on 22nd June now until I see the little munchkin again and hopefully find out whether it’s pink or blue. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my lovely friend, Lorraine at Daisy Blue Candles for my gorgeous, thoughtful gift.

So, I’m finally back. No more silence. Lipstick and Loathing will still be a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog with a few snippets of my progress thrown in for good measure. As I say, there’s some fun and fashionable posts coming up and I’m looking forward to getting back into my blogging rhythm!

Until next time…
