Glasgow Shopping for Spring

All the major cities have hosted their fashion weeks and the focus has shifted from city to city as we have looked on in wonder at the beautiful creations to grace the runways. Now I’m taking the attention back to Glasgow. A city where late night trading is not limited to one day a week, you’ll find some amazing shopping from the quirky and crazy to the mainstream, and you’ll be able to enjoy a variety of music from the buskers whilst you wander in and out the stores.

Anyone who has visited the wonderful square mile in Glasgow entitled ‘The Style Mile’ will know the amazing range of stores, shopping malls and department stores in this area alone. One of those department stores, John Lewis, within the Buchanan Galleries, is where I took myself to style a spring summer ’16 inspired look.

One of the trends I love for spring summer ’16 is florals. It is something that I often steer clear of for fear of getting it wrong, but when I seen this amazing dress by Oasis, I knew I could incorporate it into my wardrobe. The khaki green keeps it understated whilst the bright floral pattern offers a pop of colour.

In order to keep my look quite casual, I opted for a leather jacket. A wardrobe staple, and perfect for those in between months that spring can offer. This leather jacket from Warehouse has a detachable fur hood meaning it’s not only great for spring but will carry through into early winter. It sets the dress off really well and I love the way they look together.

No outfit is complete without a great pair of shoes. Whilst the thought of wearing gorgeous sandals is a welcome one, it’s not quite that time yet. Instead, I went for a versatile, trendy pair of boots from Miss KG. The buckle detail really finishes these off, and I cannot begin to tell you how comfortable they are thanks to the block heel.

Whilst John Lewis is home to some amazing brands, keep on heading down that Style Mile and you will be met by a huge Forever 21, the glitz and glamour of Princes Square as well as the ever alluring House of Fraser. Argyll Street has something for the bargain hunters and fashionistas alike. Whether Superdry is your go to store, or you love the range of high street and designer offerings under the Debenhams roof, the choice is endless. Shopping for that special someone is an enjoyable task inside the sparkly wonder of the Argyll Arcade.

Glasgow is a shopper’s paradise and is home to some very stylish people. Just walking the length of the style mile shows just how diverse and cool the people of Glasgow are. As the saying goes… people make Glasgow. With such a great range of shopping on offer, you’d really struggle to come home empty handed. When you do pay a visit to one of the UK’s best shopping areas, don’t forget to look up. The shops are gorgeous, but the architecture also shows the amazing history of Glasgow. Even the buildings are stylish…

Until next time…
